Speaker:

Judith Zedreck Gonzalez, DNP, MPM, RN, NEA-BC is the ANCC Magnet Certification professor for the University of Pittsburgh as the Program Coordinator for DNP Health Systems Executive Leadership.

Session Description:

Healthcare professionals have great understanding of the clinical and staff development needs for education (professional development, patient safety, improved patient outcomes) but struggle to relate those clinical outcomes to positive financial outcomes for their organization. This presentation with help to identify opportunities to relate educational development and patient outcomes to financial outcomes.

Objectives:

• Define quality, safety and retention metrics that relate to nurse on-boarding, clinical specialty education or other identified coursework.
• Identify methods to partner with nursing and hospital leadership to align educational goals with intended improvements in patient outcomes.
