Learn how to stand out and be effective!

Speaker:

Beth Kassalen, MBA
President, Kassalen Meetings and Events

Beth Kassalen is an accomplished and goal-driven entrepreneur with more than 30 years’ experience in Association Management including the orchestration of educational events delivered regionally, nationally, and globally. She served as Director of the Department of Continuing Medical Education for a local University before starting her own company.  She served as Executive Director for an International Nursing Society and grew her business to where it is today – providing association management services to 13 professional associations along with her team of 14.

Aligned with her passion to keep moving forward, the COVID-19 pandemic set the platform for her to reinvent herself, her team, and her business using new educational delivery methods.  Beth remains dedicated to her vision of mentoring her team, and guiding her professional associations to embrace fresh, innovation and modern approaches to delivering valuable content virtually.

Session Description:

Participants in this one-hour session will explore the concept of the impact and effectiveness of virtual presentations.

Participants will be introduced to a variety of examples and best practices will be explored. Resources and vibrant examples will be presented so that participants begin to craft their own style.

This session will explore strategies for delivering the most effective presentations and provide the most recent advances in virtual presentations for effective adult learning.

There will be a question-and-answer period and at the conclusion of the session.

Learn how to stand out and be effective!

1. Capturing your audience’s attention in the first 30 seconds.

2. Five focus areas for making your best (virtual) first impression.

3. Best practices for updating your (virtual) presentation toolkit.

4. Incorporating content retention hacks into your presentation.

5. Effectively testing your technology – a practical checklist.

The presentation will include real-life demonstrations that the learner can immediately incorporate into their daily virtual interactions with others.

The presenter will ensure that the audience knows what’s in it for them, and these best practices will ensure they are able to effectively convey the ‘why’ for the audience into their own presentations.

Polling will allow for introspection and reflection by the audience before, during and after the presentation.

The presentation will explore individual biases to virtual learning, introduce the application of gamification during meetings, and encourage audience interaction.

We look forward to seeing you on the 23rd!
